SuperValu is returning for a third year as official food partner of WellFest, Ireland’s leading health and wellness festival, which takes place in Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May.

This year, the WellFood area in association with SuperValu, has an all-star line-up, that will be sure to appeal to all festival-goers. From good food discussions, to healthy cooking for adults and kids, to eating sustainably, attendees are sure to learn new exciting ways to help them lead a healthy and balanced life. SuperValu’s very own panel of experts will also be taking on the common myths and misconceptions around health and fitness with special panel discussions on both days of the festival. Today FM presenter Muireann O’Connell will be leading the Q&A sessions with Dietitian Aveen Bannon and Pilates and yoga instructor, Annie Kirwan. Attendees will also have a chance to have their myths busted and can submit questions on the day or in advance on SuperValu’s social media channels.

On Saturday, the well-known Gut Health Doctor, aka Dr Megan Rossi, will take to the stage. She’ll be talking some gut facts and fictions, how to have a healthy tummy, and also, how to make your own kefir. She’ll also be joined by the likes of Ella Mills of Deliciously Ella, Roz Purcell, Melissa Hemsley and personal trainer and best-selling author, Alice Liveing.

Sunday’s highlights include SuperValu ambassadors, The Happy Pear, who will be doing two sessions of cooking demos, ‘Recipes for Happiness’ and ‘Healthy Eating, Happy Life’. Sunday will also see zero-waste vegan chef Max La Manna take to the stage, where he will be demonstrating some simple sustainability hacks. His mission is to turn the tide on rubbish and breathe new energy into the leftovers that are typically destined for the bin. Finishing out the day will be The Medicinal Chef, Dale Pinnock. There are a host of big-name foodies who will be in the WellFood area over the two days, to see the full line-up visit www.wellfest.ie/festival/timetable.

SuperValu will also have some of their top Food Academy producers on site to showcase and provide some locally produced tasty bites to keep attendees nourished between foodie chats, cookery demos and workout sessions.

The WellFood area is always a highlight for attendees. With people becoming increasingly interested in the origins and nutritional value of the food they eat, and how to prepare tasty, healthy meals at home we’ve created a line-up to reflect this. From experts on gut health and sustainability to famous cooks such as Melissa Hemsley and Ella Mills – there will be something for everyone to enjoy and learn from.”

Over the weekend, SuperValu will be helping attendees get the best start to their day with a delicious breakfast served on site both mornings at the WellFood zone.  Bowls of steaming hot porridge with a range of healthy toppings will be served on Saturday and Sunday or some lucky breakfast attendees can choose the renowned Deliciously Ella Granola (Saturday) or Granola from Ireland’s favourite twins, The Happy Pear (Sunday).
