Terms and Conditions for the SuperValu Save The Bees Bursary Competition

The following sets out the contractual terms and conditions on which primary schools may enter the SuperValu Save the Bees Competition which has a total prize fund of €50,000. This fund will split equally between ten primary schools each winning €5,000 to be used by each school to improve the sustainability of their school. The competition is open to all primary schools in the Republic of Ireland only.

  1. SuperValu Ireland – Save the Bees Initiative

    SuperValu Ireland is working in partnership with the SuperValu TidyTowns Competition and the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan Project to increase the awareness of biodiversity and the important role that Bees play in creating a sustainable environment now and into the future.

  2. SuperValu Save the Bees Competition – How it Works

    All primary schools in the Republic of Ireland will receive a SuperValu Save the Bees Pollinator pack. This pack includes: (i) information for primary schools on how they can promote the Save the Bees initiative with their pupils; (ii) seeds to create their own Irish wildflower garden; and (iii) the collection poster referenced in the paragraph below.Primary schools will receive this pack during the week commencing the 28th February 2022.The pack will be sent via post addressed to the school Principals.

    The SuperValu Save the Bees Pollinator pack will include a 300-card collection poster which pupils will be encouraged to complete with SuperValu Save the Bees cards.

    From 4th March 2022 SuperValu customers in the Republic of Ireland who spend €30.00 or more in one transaction will receive one SuperValu Save the Bees in participating SuperValu stores.If the customer also swipes their SuperValu Real Rewards Card in connection with a spend of €30.00 or more, they will receive a second SuperValu Save the Bees Card. The customer should then give his or her child/niece/nephew/neighbour etc the sticker(s) to bring into the participating primary school.

    The last date that the SuperValu Save the Bees Cards can be obtained in participating SuperValu stores in the Republic of Ireland is the 12th May 2022.

    The SuperValu Save the Bees Card collection poster should displayed in participating primary schools (location within the school is at the discretion of the management of the school) and each card should be added to the SuperValu Save the Bees collection poster until all of the 300 spaces on the collection poster have been filled.The can also be used as teaching aids in class.Each card sticker has been sourced responsibly using sustainable materials and they are fully recyclable.The closing date for the competition is midnight on the 12th of May 2022.

  3. SuperValu Save the Bees Competition - How to Enter

    When the primary school has collected 300 Save the Bees Cards stickers and the collection poster is filled the participating primary school will need to do the following to enter the bursary competition:

    1. An authorised representative from the participating primary school must take a photo of your completed collection poster (please ensure that the photo is of the completed poster only and does not contain images of pupils, teachers or other individuals).
    2. Visit www.supervalu.ie to:
      1. Upload your photo of the completed collection poster; and
      2. Complete the entry form with relevant participating primary school details including contact details and school roll number; and
      3. Answer a simple test of skill.

    The application must be made in the name of the participating primary school. The entry submission must be accompanied by all of the information requested on www.supervalu.ie. Any entry without all of the required information will be deemed not to be a valid entry and will not progress in the competition.

  4. SuperValu Save the Bees Competition – The Prize

    The €50,000 bursary will be shared equally amongst the 10 winning primary schools with each successful primary school receiving €5,000 which is to be used by each successful primary school in making the school a more sustainable place.The prize is non-transferable, and no alternatives will be offered in lieu.

  5. SuperValu Save the Bees Competition - Terms & Conditions

    The promoter is Musgrave Limited trading as Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland, Tramore Road, Cork (“Musgrave”). The SuperValu Save the Bees Competition will run from the 4th March 2022 to 12th May 2022.

    Closing date for entries is midnight on the 12th May 2022. Each entry form must be completed as outlined in section 4 above in order for it to be deemed a valid entry and for it to be eligible for the draw.

    Each primary school can only submit one entry per school. Multiple entries will be deemed ineligible.

    Please note that the decision of Musgrave in relation to eligible entries be final in this regard.Late or incomplete entries will be disqualified. Musgrave will not take any responsibility for any technical failure or malfunction which may result in an entry being delayed, lost or not properly registered or recorded.

    By entering the competition, the primary schools agree that they can be contacted in the future by Musgrave in relation to the Save the Bees and other relevant primary school initiatives.

    By entering into the competition, the winning primary schools’ consent to be part of any promotional coverage surrounding the competition, free of charge/without compensation, that may be run or initiated by Musgrave across all forms of media, including but not limited to, television, radio, promotion and all social media and internet for the purposes that Musgrave elects.Musgrave is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any promotional materials relating to the SuperValu Save the Bees Initiative.

    The draw will be held on a date post the 12th May 2022 (on such date as Musgrave may elect at its discretion) and winners will be confirmed and notified within 28 days of the date of the draw. Winners will be notified by phone via the phone number provided with the entry. Prizes are as stated; no alternative will be offered. The result of the draw is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.

    Entry by a participating primary school to the competition will be considered a full & unconditional acceptance of the terms and conditions of this competition.

    If the winning school cannot be contacted or take any other required action to claim the prize within one month of the receipt of the notification from Musgrave, Musgrave reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the entries validly entered before the closing date.

    While Musgrave will use every effort to ensure the SuperValu Save the Bees competition is open until the intended closing date Musgrave reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the SuperValu Save the Bees Competition (including these terms and conditions) in whole or in part at any time. Any amendments will be published on the website at www.supervalu.ie.Musgrave will endeavour to give 7 days' notice of such a cancellation, termination, modification or suspension.If this is not possible Musgrave shall give entrants as much notice as it reasonably can.

    In addition, Musgrave will use every effort to ensure that participating SuperValu stores in the Republic of Ireland have a stock of Supervalu Save the Bees collection cards. If for any reason SuperValu Save the Bees cards are unavailable at time of a qualifying transaction the specific participating SuperValu store will endeavour to but cannot guarantee to replace cards at the next opportunity, alternatives will not be offered in lieu.

  6. APPLICABLE LAW

    These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland and the Courts of the Republic of Ireland will have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes.
