Little Mammas Gelato
Little Mamma's is a gelateria based in Donegal Town, founded by Jon and his family. After running a café for 20 years while raising their children, they developed a deep passion for hospitality and food. Inspired by their own childhood experiences of visiting ice cream parlours, they set out to bring that same joy to Donegal in 2018. Jon trained in Italy with renowned gelato chefs to perfect the craft, and since then, Little Mamma's has become known for offering authentic Italian gelato made with love and passion. With over 100 flavours created to date, the business has grown to supply local restaurants, hotels, and shops, while maintaining its commitment to quality and authenticity.
In addition to their range of gelato, Little Mamma’s enjoys collaborating with other local businesses. They’ve created unique flavours using ingredients like O'Donnells brown bread, Silkie whiskey, Muff gin sorbet, and McDaid's football special. They also work closely with the Milk Bar in Carrigans, producing gelato made with their own locally sourced milk. Their new production facility in Barnesmore Gap has allowed them to scale up their operation as they continue to expand, while remain dedicated to offering a truly authentic and delicious product that brings a taste of Italy to Donegal.
The SuperValu Food Academy has played a key role in the growth of Little Mamma’s, offering invaluable support and guidance to help develop their business.
