Thanks Plants
I set up Thanks Plants in 2020 but really I have been passionate about the food industry all my life. When buying meat substitutes myself from the supermarket, I noticed that the back of the pack can sometimes read like a science project – methyl cellulose, red iron oxide, sodium alginate… I just didn’t know what these ingredients were. Then I started making my own ‘meatless meats’ at home and I packed them with great ingredients like cannellini beans, pearl barley and vegetables. They were so tasty so when the opportunity of the Food Academy came up, I thought they would be perfect to bring to the market.
Being a part of the Food Academy is very exciting for me. I have learned so much along this journey . Among many other things, the Food Academy has taught me how to ensure that my product is produced in a food safe manner; the importance of connecting with my customers through social media and in-store tastings also
